Who is the Behind The Magic Tour designed for?
The tour is popular with student groups, educators, scouts, travel planners, performing arts organizations, corporate outings, and Broadway enthusiasts seeking a deeper look at Disney’s historic New Amsterdam Theatre.
Does the tour include backstage or onstage access?
No. The Behind The Magic Tour does not include backstage areas or access to the stage. The experience focuses on the history, architecture, and restoration of Disney’s historic New Amsterdam Theatre, along with select archival costumes and theatrical artifacts on display. Guests may also have opportunities to try on select costume pieces and take photos during the experience.
How long is the experience?
The Behind The Magic Tour lasts approximately 50-60 minutes.
What will guests experience during the tour?
Guests will explore the history of the New Amsterdam Theatre, learn about Disney’s restoration of the landmark, view select achieve costumes and props, and discover the artistry and craftsmanship that bring Disney stories to life on Broadway.
When are tours available?
Tours are generally offered Monday through Sunday at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:00 AM, subject to theatre availability and operations. No tours on Thursdays.
Can the tour be booked without attending a Disney show?
Yes. The tour may be purchased as a standalone experience. Reduced pricing is available when paired with group tickets to ALADDIN or THE LION KING.
Can I reserve now and pay later?
In many cases, yes. Disney Group Sales can often hold space while groups finalize attendance and payment details. Your sales representative will provide important deadlines and requirements.
What happens if the theatre becomes unavailable?
On rare occasions, theatre operations may require schedule changes. Disney will attempt to notify groups as soon as possible and may offer an alternate date, time, or experience at its discretion.

You may make request adjustments to your booking prior to submitting payment. Any changes below the group minimum of ten (10) participants will void your booking. Groups should arrive ten (10) minutes prior to their scheduled tour start time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened tour experience or denial of entry, with no refund or credit provided. The Behind the Magic Tour is a guided experience within a working Broadway theatre and lasts approximately 50-60 minutes. Tour content and experience elements are subject to change without notice. Stage access is not guaranteed. Photography, video recording, live streaming, and audio recording may be prohibited in certain areas of the tour. Participants must adhere to all instructions regarding photography and recording. In the event the theatre or any portion of the tour experience becomes unavailable, Seller will make reasonable efforts to notify Buyer and may, at Seller’s sole discretion, reschedule the tour, modify the experience, or provide an alternate experience. Discounted tour rates are available only to groups that purchase tickets to ALADDIN or THE LION KING on Broadway. If show tickets are canceled or not purchased, the applicable tour rate may be adjusted to the then-current non-discounted tour rate. No refunds, all sales final.
